Comments:Helena attended the Care Home on 15th February 2026 and was wonderful.
She was the sole singer ( the Home had previously had a pair of D-Day Dollies who were equally fantastic ). The choice of songs was spot-on and the delivery was great. During the performance I glanced around the room and saw most if not all the residents either :
tapping fingers in time to the music
tapping feet in time to the music
singing along with the words of the songs
getting up and dancing to the music
The amount of animation and participation from the residents was clearly visible and definitely enjoyed.
It is such an important part of the care for residents to feel ‘in touch’ with society. The Mini Concerts provided with the music ( especially from an era that they knew and loved ) has such a great importance to their lives.
Well done Helena and well done the team.
And a big thank you from me for allowing me to see Mum smile and sing again – even if its only for a short while.
