As one of the most performed Christmas shows in the country, with over 600 festive performances due to take place this year alone, ‘Countdown to Christmas’ really has become a Christmas institution in its own right.
Now in it’s ninth festive season of touring shows, and returning for its sixth consecutive annual visit to the magical setting of Chipping Sodbury Town Hall’s historic theatre, this family show is sure to fill everyone who sees it with genuine festive cheer and goodwill.
The show’s performed as the ultimate live ‘Musical’ advent calendar, counting down through some of the greatest Christmas hits ever recorded. Just think of your favourite ‘Now That’s What I call – Christmas’ album, mixed with a sprinkling of ‘Michael Bublé’s Christmas Magic’, all washed down with a liberal glass of Christmas spirit, then you’ll be on the right track!

With something for all the family, from a special ‘Holly Dolly Christmas’ performance by the national treasures that are ‘The D-Day Dollies’, to a special appearance by a ‘Cool’ Disney Princess for the young, and young at heart, this fun mix of chart hits and popular Christmas anthems is the perfect way to see in the festive season.
This is a show where singing along and dancing in the aisles aren’t frowned upon… they’re absolutely encouraged!
Do you know a ‘Grinch’? Then bring them along! Our ‘Christmas Elves’ love a challenge, and their sure to have them doing the ‘Christmas Conga’ before Santa comes down the chimney to watch the final act.
From Bing Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ through to Mariah Carey’s ‘All I want for Christmas’, and a host of hits in between, there really is something for everyone in this ultimate Christmas musical show.
The only question is will your festive favourite make it behind that coveted final advent calendar window at the end of the night? Will ‘Slade’ out shine ‘Wizard’ in this magical countdown, or will ‘Band Aid’ relegate ‘Chris de Burgh’ to the naughty list when it comes to Santa’s final placings? There really is only one way to find out, come along and join the party on Friday 18th December 2026 at Chipping Sodbury Town Hall!
…and it gets better!
Every year the money raised from our gala evening events enables the wonderful Mini Concerts team to put on a completely free matinee performance that’s open to the residents and staff of all the Care and Nursing Homes across South Gloucestershire and the surrounding area. In 2025, that meant that nearly 200 of the most deserving audience members you could wish to meet got to share a live and festive theatre experience completely free of charge.
